Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 · Effective September 17, 2026

Short version: be kind, keep it honest, don't farm Petals or referrals, and remember Momora is peer support — never medical care. The full agreement follows.

1. These terms, and who we are

Momora ("Momora", "we", "us") is a community and wellness space built for mothers — the fourth trimester and after. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Momora. By creating an account, checking the acceptance box at signup, or using the app in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our community rules, which live inside the app and which we may update from time to time.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not create an account or use Momora. We keep a timestamped record of which version of these Terms you accepted on your account, and we will ask you to re-accept if the Terms materially change.

Momora is not a medical provider, and nothing in these Terms changes that. Section 5 (health disclaimer) matters — please read it.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Momora account. Mothers, mothers-to-be, and the people who support them are all welcome, but accounts belong to the adult who creates them. We may ask for age verification if we reasonably believe an account belongs to a minor, and we suspend accounts we cannot verify.

You are responsible for your account: keep your password safe, do not share your login, and tell us right away at founder@momora.app if you believe someone else is using your account. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your login. One person may hold one primary account; bulk, scripted, rented, or farmed accounts are prohibited (see Sections 8 and 9).

You give us accurate registration information — your name, email, and username — and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that impersonate other people, use misleading handles, or hide materially false identities.

3. Community rules and prohibited conduct

Momora exists so mothers can be honest with each other without fear. To keep it that way, these are banned everywhere on the platform — posts, stories, groups, DMs, journal shares, wish lists, gifts, and profile content:

  • Harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing, or targeted cruelty of any kind.
  • Sexual content involving minors (reported and removed without appeal, and reported to authorities and NCMEC where required), or any CSAM-adjacent material.
  • Medical misinformation presented as care advice, or any claim that a product or practice treats, cures, or prevents a disease.
  • Spam, scam gifting schemes, Petal-farming automation, fake referral rings, pyramid or multi-level recruitment, and cryptocurrency or investment promotions.
  • Impersonation of moms, moderators, health professionals, or Momora staff.
  • Scraping, reverse engineering, reselling access, or automated use of the app outside official clients.
  • Content that puts mothers at risk — self-harm promotion, dangerous newborn-sleep or feeding practices presented as safe, or instructions for harming others.
  • We moderate in layers: community reports first, moderator review second, and the founder console for sanctions, appeals, and safety escalations. We may remove content, mute features, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these rules — and we will tell you what happened and how to appeal unless the law or an active safety investigation prevents it.

4. Your content, and your license to us

Your posts, stories, photos, journal entries, wish lists, and replies are YOURS. We claim no ownership of anything you create on Momora.

To run the app we need a limited license: by posting content you grant Momora a worldwide, revocable (to the extent technically practical), royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and transmit that content inside the app and its notifications — for example, rendering your story in the feed or delivering a mention in your notification inbox. This license exists only to operate Momora; we do not sell your content, we do not train advertising models on it, and we do not display it outside the app (unless you share it, or we are required to by law).

When you delete content or your account, the license ends for content that is deleted, except for backups that expire on their normal schedule, content other moms have independently re-shared where deletion is not technically possible, and records we must keep for safety, fraud, or legal reasons (our moderation, fraud, and ledger records are deliberately append-only).

You are responsible for having the rights to what you post. If we receive a valid copyright complaint (DMCA or equivalent), we will remove the content, notify you, and process appeals in line with the law.

5. Health disclaimer — please read this one

Momora is peer support, NOT medical care. Nothing on Momora — posts, stories, groups, wellness check-ins, EPDS screenings, journal prompts, reminders, or anything any other mom says — is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and no mom-to-mom interaction creates a provider relationship.

The EPDS wellness check-in is a self-administered screening tool. A high score is information to bring to a professional, not a diagnosis, and a low score is not a clean bill of health. Always seek the advice of your physician, OB, midwife, or qualified mental-health provider with any questions about you or your baby, and never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read on Momora.

If you are in crisis — or you have thoughts of harming yourself or anyone else — use the crisis resources built into the app, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the US), or Postpartum Support International at 1-800-944-4773, or your local emergency number, immediately. Do not wait for an app.

Momora does not endorse, and is not responsible for, advice exchanged between members. You use peer content at your own discretion, and you know your own situation best.

6. The Petals economy — what a Petal is and is not

Petals are Momora’s in-app appreciation points. A Petal has a FACE VALUE of ten US cents ($0.10) inside the app — that is what it is worth when you receive it. Petals are NOT money, not legal tender, not a cryptocurrency, not securities, and not a bank account or payment instrument of any kind. They are a feature of the Momora community.

CASH-OUT: you may request to cash Petals out at the current cash-out rate of seven and a half cents ($0.075) per Petal — the spread between face value and cash-out is how Momora funds the economy, gift matching, and fraud review. The minimum cash-out is $5.00, which is 67 Petals at the current rate (67 × $0.075 = $5.03). We may change the face value, the cash-out rate, or the minimum with reasonable notice in-app before the change applies to new activity; your existing balance always remains cash-out-able at the rate that was in effect when the Petals were credited to you, except as Section 9 (fraud) provides.

Petals are earned by real participation — gifts from other moms, referral rewards under Section 7, and programs we publish — and they live on an append-only ledger we keep for every account. Petals have no interest, no dividends, and no expiry while your account is in good standing, but they are personal to you: you may NOT sell, barter, exchange, or transfer Petals or cash-out rights to any other person, service, or marketplace. Attempts to do so void the affected Petals.

Cash-outs are reviewed by our payment-screening system (amount, velocity, account age, balance-drain and referral-share checks) before they settle. A cash-out that trips a review goes to the founder queue and may be delayed, partially or fully refunded, or declined if it fails review. Cash-outs are paid through Stripe Connect; you may need an account with Stripe and to accept Stripe’s terms to receive money.

7. The referral program

Every mom gets an invite code. When a NEW mom signs up with your code, you earn 20 Petals (two dollars of face value) — IF the referral is real. These rules exist to make sure the program pays for real moms, not for farm accounts, and by participating in the program you agree to all of them.

A referral QUALIFIES when ALL of the following are true: (a) the invited mom verifies her email address; (b) she makes her first real contribution — a story or a group post; (c) 7 full days have passed since she joined (aligned with our payment-fraud review window); (d) our device and network checks do not match her signup to yours or to a device that already produced another referral; and (e) you are under the velocity limit of 10 paid referrals in any rolling 30 days. Referrals that do not qualify stay pending; referrals that look like fraud are flagged for human review.

SELF-REFERRAL AND FARMING ARE PROHIBITED. You may not refer yourself, create multiple accounts, use devices or networks to simulate new moms, coordinate with "referral farms", or otherwise engineer rewards. We detect this with, and you CONSENT to our use of: a device identifier cookie set at signup/login, and a salted, truncated, hashed fingerprint of your signup network address (we never store your raw IP address for this purpose). Rewards obtained through fraud are void and clawed back, involved accounts may be suspended or terminated, and we may report abuse where the law requires.

The founder reviews every flagged referral personally. Approved referrals pay; rejected referrals do not, and the referrer is told honestly why. Reward decisions are final after review, subject to Section 14 (disputes). We may pause, cap, change, or end the referral program with notice in-app; pending referrals at that moment are honored if they would otherwise have qualified.

8. Cash-outs, payouts, and taxes

When you request a cash-out, you confirm the payout method is yours and the details are correct. Payments move through Stripe Connect; Momora never asks for your bank credentials, and you should never share them with anyone — a Momora admin will never ask for your password, your Stripe login, or a "verification fee".

Large or unusual activity is reviewed before it pays: single cash-outs of fifty dollars ($50) or more, the fourth cash-out in 24 hours, more than seventy-five dollars ($75) in 24 hours, cash-outs of twenty dollars ($20) or more from accounts younger than 7 days, drains of 80%+ of a wallet (twenty dollars or more), and wallets where most of the recent inflow came from referral rewards. Reviewed cash-outs may be held, refunded, or declined; honest moms usually just see a short delay the first time.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TAXES. If your payouts in a year cross reporting thresholds, Stripe and/or Momora may issue tax forms (for example a 1099-K or 1099-NEC in the US) and may require your tax information (such as a W-9) before further payouts. Petals and payouts are not wages; there is no employment, contractor, agency, or partnership relationship between you and Momora created by the economy, referrals, or payouts.

If a cash-out is paid in error, or funded by fraudulent or reversed activity, we may reverse the corresponding Petal credit, recover the amount from future earnings, or suspend payouts until resolved. You keep all records we send you (cash-out receipts in your in-app email inbox) for your own tax purposes.

9. Privacy and your data

What we collect to run Momora: your registration details (name, email, username, optional baby details), your content, the messages and gifting activity necessary to run those features, your device identifier (httpOnly cookie) and a salted, truncated network-address hash for fraud protection (never your raw IP), session records, and security logs. Private data — journals, DMs, wellness check-ins — is end-to-end encrypted where the feature supports it; the server stores ciphertext, not plaintext.

What we do NOT do: we do not sell your personal data, we do not run third-party ad tracking in the app, and we do not train advertising models on your content or health data. Aggregated, de-identified statistics (for example "how many moms journaled this week") may be used to improve Momora.

You can export or erase your data from Settings → Your data. Erasure removes your content and personal fields from the app; safety, fraud, and ledger records we must legally retain are kept in append-only form with identifiers minimized. You may also email founder@momora.app to exercise access, correction, deletion, or portability rights (including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights where they apply to you). We will verify you are you before acting.

Sensitive health note: whatever you post about your pregnancy, your body, or your mental health should be understood as sensitive. Post what you are comfortable with, and know that peer content is visible to the audience you share it with. A standalone, launch-grade Privacy Policy is published alongside these Terms; where it and these Terms differ, the Privacy Policy controls on privacy matters.

10. Moderation, sanctions, and appeals

Moderators and the founder can remove content, mute features, suspend accounts, and escalate safety cases. Sanctions are proportionate, logged in an append-only audit trail, and communicated to you with the reason. You can appeal any sanction through the in-app appeal flow; appeals are reviewed by someone other than the moderator who issued the sanction where staffing allows.

THE SAFETY EXCEPTION: where there is a credible risk of serious harm to a mom or a child — credible self-harm risk, credible threat, or suspected abuse of a child — Momora may escalate to emergency contacts or authorities as required by law and may review otherwise-private content strictly for that purpose. This exception is deliberately narrow, deliberately audited, and deliberately rare; it exists to protect mothers, not to surveil them.

11. Availability, changes, and if things break

Momora is provided as-is and as-available. We work hard on uptime, but the app may be unavailable — for maintenance, because a third party (hosting, Stripe, notifications) has an outage, or because something broke. You should not rely on Momora as your only record of anything important (your journal can be exported — use it).

We may add, change, or remove features, including the Petals economy mechanics under Section 6, with reasonable notice for anything material. If we ever end the Petals program entirely, we will announce a final cash-out window of at least 60 days so nobody is left holding worthless petals.

We may update these Terms; material changes get notice in-app and a fresh acceptance request. Continuing to use Momora after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using the app and cash out under the rules that were in effect when your Petals were credited.

12. Disclaimers and limits of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, MOMORA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED — INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that other moms’ content will be accurate.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, MOMORA (INCLUDING ITS FOUNDER AND STAFF) IS NOT LIABLE TO YOU FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (a) THE TOTAL CASH-OUT VALUE OF THE PETALS IN YOUR WALLET WHEN THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (b) FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything else the law does not permit us to disclaim.

You agree to indemnify and hold Momora harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your misuse of the app, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights — except where the claim arises from Momora’s own breach or misconduct.

13. Disputes and governing law

If something goes wrong, email founder@momora.app first — most things resolve with a human conversation, and we commit to responding within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve it informally, the dispute goes to binding individual arbitration (administered by a recognized arbitration provider) rather than in court, EXCEPT that either side may bring a claim in small-claims court, and either side may seek emergency injunctive relief for IP misuse or safety threats. YOU AND MOMORA EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION; claims are brought individually. If this class waiver is found unenforceable, the arbitration agreement fails with it and disputes go to court.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules — except that consumers keep any mandatory protections of their home jurisdiction. If a court or arbitrator strikes any provision, the rest of these Terms stay in force.

14. Miscellaneous, and how to reach us

These Terms, the community rules, and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Momora about the app. If we do not enforce a provision right away, we are not waiving it. You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice.

We will email important legal notices to the address on your account (they also land in your in-app email inbox) and post in-app notices for changes that affect everyone.

Questions, reports, and data requests: founder@momora.app. Crisis resources live in More → Safety in the app, always one tap away.

How we handle your data is covered separately in the Privacy Policy. Momora is peer support, not medical care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or Postpartum Support International at 1-800-944-4773.
